Open chat and enter a command
Press T for chat or / to begin a command, type the line and press Enter. Normal text is a player message. A slash-prefixed line is a command. Command keywords and named mode/weather arguments are lowercase; use the examples as written.
These are local-world controls. The current dispatcher does not restrict /give, /tp, /time, /weather or /mode to Creator, so they can act as cheats in a finite-resource world. They change the current world rather than starting a separate sandbox. Use ordinary gathering and building when you want to preserve a survival challenge.
The world continues while chat is open. Escape closes the input without sending. Up/Down recalls command history; Left/Right and Home/End edit the current line; Page Up/Page Down scroll the chat history.
Everyday chat and information
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/help |
Prints the short built-in command list |
/say Hello there |
Sends the following words as your player message |
/clear |
Clears the current world chat log |
/seed |
Prints this world's numeric seed |
/settlement |
Reports the nearest known settlement's population, stocks and status |
/debug |
Toggles the diagnostics overlay, like G/F3 |
/sit |
Toggles sitting at your current position; move or press Space to stand |
/settlement does not spawn a town, open trading or teleport you. It reports the nearest known settlement, which can be some distance away. Depending on the available community record it lists homes, living residents, guards, farmers, food, water, iron, steel, firewood, whether you are a recognized trader, and lost crops. If no settlement is known it says so.
/clear clears the world chat log, not your world, companion journal or already-written recording files. Plain text and /say can also be offered to a nearby witch when the optional Mika system is enabled.
Change game mode
/mode stasis
/mode mortal
/mode creator
/mode immortal
/gamemode is an exact alias for /mode. Stasis and Mortal use finite inventory and crafting; Creator provides its library and damage immunity; Immortal is observation with flight through terrain. See the modes article for survival differences.
Changing mode returns your held cursor stack, stops current velocity and changes flight state. Immortal begins flying. Creator does not automatically begin flying when selected by this command; use its flight controls.
Set time
| Command | Time selected |
|---|---|
/time noon or /time day |
0.50, midday |
/time night |
0.00, middle of the night |
/time sunrise |
0.27 |
/time sunset |
0.73 |
/time 0.4 |
A numeric fraction of the daily cycle |
Numeric times wrap around the cycle: for example, 1.25 becomes 0.25. The number must be finite. This is a fraction of a day, not an hour or a Minecraft-style tick count. The command sets the current moment; it does not disable the day-cycle setting.
A normal full cycle lasts fifteen simulated minutes when the day cycle is enabled. Time changes affect nighttime creatures, sleep and other time-dependent systems, so changing the sky can have gameplay effects.
Set weather and trigger storm events
| Command | Effect |
|---|---|
/weather clear |
Clear weather |
/weather rain |
Rain |
/weather storm or /weather thunderstorm |
Thunderstorm |
/weather fog |
Fog |
/weather flood |
Starts a storm and attempts nearby low-shore flooding |
/weather lightning |
Starts a storm and attempts a lightning strike |
Rain, storm, clear and fog are ordinary player-facing weather controls. flood and lightning are also accepted by the current dispatcher, even though the short /help response does not list them. They trigger actual gameplay effects, not merely a screenshot filter.
Flooding looks for loaded, exposed low shoreline land near water; the command may have nothing suitable to flood on high or inland ground. Storm flood sources are temporary and recede. Lightning chooses a nearby strike location and can injure players, creatures or residents and sometimes start fire. An unloaded chosen strike location is skipped. Neither command guarantees an effect at the exact block under your crosshair.
Changing weather does not permanently lock natural weather progression. There is no /weather snow command in this version.
Give yourself items
/give torch 64
/give copper-pickaxe 1
/give coal-dynamo 1
/give 27 16
Syntax is /give item-name-or-id [count]. Use the complete item name with spaces replaced by hyphens. Item-name matching ignores case, but other punctuation remains part of the name. A numeric valid item ID also works. The count defaults to one and is clamped to 1–99.
The command adds as much as fits in inventory using each item's actual stack limit. Its reply states the quantity actually added. Excess that does not fit is not added; it is not an automatically dropped supply crate. Single-item equipment still needs separate slots.
Use normal catalog item names for predictable results. Some valid numeric IDs represent internal states, orientations or parts rather than useful stand-alone building items. There is no separate /spawn command: use a creature's spawn egg and the normal right-click placement rules if you want to spawn it.
Teleport
/tp 0 60 0
Syntax is /tp x y z, with three finite numeric coordinates. Y is height and the position is the player's feet. X and Z are clamped to ±200,000 and Y to 1–150. Teleportation clears velocity and opens the terrain-loading screen.
The command uses the coordinates directly; it does not search for a safe floor or clear standing space. Choose an open location or use Creator/Immortal to inspect a build. It is not the same thing as setting a bed home.
Flight, home and saving
There is no /fly or /home slash command in this dispatcher.
For flight, use Ctrl+F or double-tap Space in Creator; Immortal has observation flight automatically. Space rises, Shift descends, and the flying speed controls are described on the controls page. F alone swaps your offhand.
For home, place and use a wool bed with safe space beside it. Hay beds do not set a respawn. The death-screen Return to spawn action uses a valid bed home or the original spawn. It is not a /spawn command.
There is also no /save, /pause, /resume, /kill or /respawn chat command. Worlds autosave, and Save & return to title saves and closes the active world. Closing the game normally also saves it.
Companion commands
| Command | Effect |
|---|---|
/companion |
Opens the companion panel, like J |
/ai |
Alias for /companion |
/company_hold |
Cancels queued companion actions and selects Hold |
Hold stops voluntary standing activity; configured local survival and defense responses may remain. Opening the companion panel does not automatically enable the link, join a character, grant an external assistant access or freeze the world. Use the panel and connection helper for pairing.
Names such as company_enable, company_off, company_release, resume, title and offhand_slot occur as internal interface actions. They are not extra slash commands just because they appear in a debug log or recording. Use the corresponding visible interface action.
Recording commands
| Command | Effect |
|---|---|
/record or /record status |
Shows the current recording state |
/record start |
Starts a local gameplay recording in an open world |
/record stop |
Finalizes the current session |
/record goal Build a watermill |
Adds your intention at that moment |
/record note The switch was bypassed |
Adds a reason, observation or correction |
Goal/note text needs an active recording. The annotation is limited to 240 characters. F6 and the menu button also toggle recording. Recording stays local unless you separately share its files; it does not automatically train a companion.
The legacy freeze command
/freeze_all is still recognized, but it does not freeze the current implementation. It opens the world menu and replies that the world keeps running. That menu explicitly says the world continues.
Ordinary menus do not protect your player or stop hunger, breath, hazards, creatures, kilns or the companion. To stop this world's simulation, use Save & return to title, or save and close the game. Older release guides describing Freeze everyone or safe solo pause do not describe the current lifecycle code.
Experimental commands
The /mika command family belongs to an opt-in witch-language/cognition build. A standard build has those features disabled. See the experimental witch-language article before treating these commands as ordinary NPC conversation.
An unrecognized command reports that /help lists local world commands. This reference intentionally distinguishes actual chat dispatch from internal UI actions and command-line test tours.
